The Mavericks are an American band, founded in 1989 in Miami, Florida, that does not obey any genre. Between 1991 and 2003 they recorded six studio albums and 14 singles that reached the Billboard charts. Their most popular single in the United States was "All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down" in 1996, released in collaboration with accordionist Flaco Jimenez. In the UK they are best known for their 1998 single "Dance the Night Away", which peaked at number 4 on the UK singles chart. The band disbanded in 2004 and singer Raul Malo released six solo albums. Robert Reynolds has released two solo EPs and co-founded the "supergroup" SWAG with Maverick bandmate Jerry Dale McFadden, as well as Wilco’s Ken Coomer, Cheap Trick’s Tom Peterson and Doug Powell. In 2012, the band announced several festival dates for the reunion. Soon after, they were offered a contract with Big Machine Records and recorded the reunion album In Time. The long-awaited album was released in February 2013.
Mavericks released their seventh studio album "En Español" on August 21, 2020 through Mono Mundo. The new album peaked at number 6 on Billboard’s Folk Folk chart and is the follow-up to 2019’s Play the Hits, which featured Martina McBride on the track "Once Upon a Time". In the same year, the band embarked on the American tour for its 30th anniversary, flanked by Los Lobos. The band, based in Miami, was formed in 1989 and currently consists of members Raul Malo, Paul Deakin, Eddie Perez and Jerry Dale McFadden. The Mavericks 2025 tickets.
